A lot of m/m fiction focuses pretty much exclusively on the romance, the relationship drama and maybe some slice of life.

Thus I am always really glad if I get a book in the sci-fi, fantasy or paranormal m/m category that has a bit more than that.

The series has gotten me really invested in the characters because of their struggles, trying to get free, fighting for survival and building a relationship without even speaking each other’s language.

I liked these kind of stories since I was a child and it is pretty great to get the kinky gay version of it.

The narration is pretty good as well, nice distinct character voices and easy to listen to.

Carter is maybe a bit on the stereotypical side, but I think he is relatable enough and especially in the second book, I would say he eventually gets to shine and actually appear smart if a bit awkward.

Besides that, big hunky feline aliens are just something that is really, really hard to not get enamored with.

I am quite looking forward to more from the author and especially in this series.
