The narrative performance is phenomenal! the narrator holds the listener spellbound throughout the majority of the book, but there are those points every so often when the writing is just so badly done, and breaks the character of the story so far, that even the best of narrators is unable to overcome it. If the reader manages to get past those spots of failure, things eventually fall back in line again. It is those shortfalls that keep this production from a 5-star rating.
