The book can be divided into three parts. Here’s a quick review of each.
Part 1: Laugh out loud funny. Crude to the point of crossing the line a few times. Story is a bit lacking but you won’t care.
Part 2: Comedy slows down revealing a plot that has some trouble supporting the story without it. The comedy of the series is derived almost entirely from Boxxy acting like a complete moron. Here however the story has Boxy mostly doing normal adventuring stuff(for him…err her…ummm it…arrg I give up)
Part 3: Kept looking at the time left and dreading when the book would be over.
I am hooked on this series and can’t wait for book 3. A word of warning though. The edginess of rooting for the bad guys is a large part of the series charm. However the casualness in which rape is mentioned, and the recurring depiction of masochistic and devient women breaks that illusion at times. Granted a large part of it is dealing with demons so is not entirely out of place, but I suspect it will be a deal breaker for some listeners.
