I’ve listened to other audiobooks narrated by Sarah Puckett and her narration works for those books. However… (emphasized) she doesn’t even attempt to pronounce names or non-English words correctly. That takes away from the story completely and shows how ignorant the narrator is with non-English words. If you can’t pronounce something, ask don’t wing it. Especially when you are narrating a book.
Examples:
Meili = She pronounced May-lie
Zheng = Zing (NO!)
Paradis = puh-rod-dis (This was so butchered)
Kalev = sounded like Caleb
And the pièce de résistance:
C’est la vie = Suh-est la vee
