Matthew DiStefano may be called a heretic, but it’s not true. he does swear, perhaps even in less than optimal times, but let’s not let that distract us from the important work he is doing. MD has offered an alternative to the same tired ways of viewing the Bible and it’s authors. His voice is fresh and energetic, and brought with it a sense.of hope for a believer like me. Heretic challenges the reader to open their mind, and ideally their Bible, to examine what’s actually being said and re-think the stagnant and off-putting teachings we’ve been handed down from well (hell) meaning pastors and theologians of yesteryear and today. Not to say that his ideas and points of view and revelations on language and interpretation are new, but have been resurrected here by a guy who sounds like me. A smart ass sinner who loves Jesus. The real Jesus.
