I a huge fan of Sarah Puckett. Despite narrating a story that I felt could have been written differently, Puckett made me connect with the characters and feel invested in the story. Now let me explain what I mean in that statement. I enjoyed the twists and hurdles that the author Gia Riley incorporated into the story but she gave everyone a form of HEA and I think that took something away from it. Without spoiling the book/audiobook, the antagonist, Connor, was a total douche but Riley still attempted to redeem him in the eyes of the reader. Trust me. There was no redeeming Connor in the eyes of this reader.
With that said, I did enjoy the story. It was an emotional roller coaster and Sarah Puckett navigated it beautifully. The funeral scene was EPIC! I wanted to hive five Megan for standing up for herself. That scene alone is worth reading/listening to this book. Well done Gia Riley.
