I like the story so far alright… I highly disagree with the POV the writer has taken about midway through this second book that “Good and Evil are points of view, Anikin.”
Acts are neutral, intentions are not. Killing is not always wrong, murder for spite is. But the character is midway through his journey so idk if this is where the writer is actually landing or if this is just a stop along the way to enlightenment. (Such as Elsa in FROZEN saying “No right, no rules for me” and then finding out where that leads quickly)
But I am unlikely to move on to book 3 primarily because I REALLY CANT STAND THIS NARRATOR.
His voice is unpleasant to begin with.
Then he is COMPLETELY wrong for a high school kid main character. Wil Wheaton (who I am not altogether fond of as a narrator) would have been a much better choice for example, but this would actually have been a good option for a multi-cast, if not full cast reading, since there are a LOT of characters.)
He is not maintaining a tone at all, the edits are hard because one moment he is speaking up high and the next he is down low. (and I’m not talking about changing characters, or character to narrator.)
Then all of his “voices” sound the same, like an old crone. No offense meant but I have heard a lot of readers and can tolerate a lot (or else I wouldn’t have made it to the end of this book) but Idk if I can take listening to him more than 1 book at a time, without at least a month in between…. Please reissue this with a better narrator.
