L A Cotton has reminded me yet again what a truly gifted writer she is with Prince of Hearts. It’s different from other things I’ve read from her. But it was equally amazing. I loved the whole Romeo and Juliet vibe I got from it. Both Nicco and Ari were well written, multi layered characters. I liked many of the secondary characters and the ways they contributed to the story. And of course there were several characters I pretty much hated. The storyline itself is so entertaining. There is clearly more going on than the main characters know and then when new things are revealed, or terrible things happen I’m thrown for a loop. The cliffhanger in book one was expected but of course frustrating. And it kind of broke my heart for both Nicco and Ari. I’ll be jumping into book two asap because I’m fully invested and need to know what’s going to happen to these characters. The narration for this story was excellent. Once again Sarah Puckett drew me in and had me really connecting with the FMC. I thought Michael Norman Johnson did a really good job as well and it made for an overall great listening experience.
