This book has everything I liked about The Land: Chaos Seeds series without everything I disliked. Like The Land this book has the borderline addicting settlement/kingdom building mechanics. The author does an excellent job delivering meaningful progressions that create a feeling of excitement as the main character gains more power and the settlement gets stronger. Unlike other LitRPGs this author understands how to write with a fluid pace that feels natural to read. Even during combat scenes! I never feel disrespected by the pace of the author like I have in the past with other books in the genre.

I was initially hesitant to buy the book because I thought the premise of the character just playing a video game was going to be lame. Like I was just going to be reading some guys dumb twitch stream. I’m happy to say my concerns were completely unfounded. The story is completely (100%) immersive and “sticky”. I quickly found myself wanting to read more and more. If for some reason you find yourself having similar concerns as I had. Just ignore them and enjoy the book. You won’t regret it!
