This book is written for parents of sons but everything is applicable to parents of daughters too. I definitely saw a lot of myself in the parents described by the author and have been trying to implement the advice that he lays out. Already, before I even finished the book, my 13 yr old son announced proudly that he scored more than 100% on a test in a class that he is currently failing and he is very proud of himself. I don’t even care about the score, I’m just so happy to see him proud of himself. This book got me thinking about my own childhood and behaviors of my parents that I hoped never to repeat, although I already have. But I have become more aware of those behaviors and hopefully will stop the cycle.
