Blueshift has an intriguing concept, but after the setup it quickly devolves into a mundane survival tale that isn’t even sci-fi. There is absolutely nothing about the return to earth that is well written, and you’ve seen it done better many times over.
Plus, for such a lauded author, Dalzelle makes basic grammar mistakes. He doesn’t know which type of pronouns to use, and he uses an adjective when he needs an adverb. How lame. If I published a book with mistakes like these, I’d die of humiliation.
If you read reviews to decide whether to pull the trigger on a buy, I’d skip this. It’s blah.
