It isn’t void of some interesting storytelling, It’s just that what little there is is saturated with cliché and predictability. This is not a thought-provoking novel, simply an outlet for preaching someone’s religious beliefs.
So, if your faith aligns with the author’s you probably will enjoy the book despite its rather simplistic storytelling. It is presented well.
