Based on the cover I foolishly assumed this to be another generic scary story filled with predictable plot points, characters, “surprises” and violence. I could not have been more wrong. The Black Farm managed to create such a unique and terrifying environment that satisfied a certain itch I have for stories of people finding themselves in hell or some other awful realm/plane of existence and having to figure out how to survive. Creepy, disgusting, dark and full of imagination, this book managed to tell a story that I had no idea what would happen and I was on the edge of my seat the whole book. Add into it a fantastic narrator and this book has found itself added to a select group of books that will stick with me long after reading them.
Definitely recommend if you don’t mind extreme violence.
