I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Completely cut off from the previous book, you don’t need to read/listen to the first book at all. Might have liked it more if it seemed a little more connected for being the sequel other than the same main character.
Otherwise it’s still a space/magical power/laser weapon book with explosions and PG sex
