I knew this would be a quick listen when I picked it up. I didn’t know that the vast majority of the book would be retelling what many other books had to say on the subject, and then debunking those claims.
At first, I thought, “Well, this guy has done his research.” Then I thought, “Okay, that’s enough about what other people wrote about these events – what do you have to say?”
In the end, I came away not knowing much more about this ostensible beginning of organized crime than I had known at the beginning.
The narrator did a great job. That kept me listening.
