Take some Kaiju, throw in some corrupt corporate types, some unscrupulous scientist, and wimpy journalist and you have Tether. **The writing wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t compelling for me.** With that in mind, and if you are into Japanese Kaiju, monsters, anime, whatever, you may find this more interesting. While the story wasn’t bad, I did find the wording to be very poetic’ish but still stiff and forced. The two main characters develop pretty well as the story moves along, but I never bought into them. The story has a good pace and if I found the content more compelling, I may have liked it. As is, I wish I’d picked a different book from the sale.

The narration was acceptable, but didn’t really add anything to the story. The narrator also did “The Messenger: Book 1” which I also felt had mediocre narration and just did not like the story, but Jeffrey Kafer narrated “NPC” with R.C. Bray which I loved, so it may be more what Mr. Kafer is reading than his narration ability. That said, I feel that co-narrating with R.C. Bray will help boost anyone’s work as R.C. Bray is an awesome narrator. Also worth noting is that it looks like Mr. Kafer narrates **A LOT** of books. If I’m doing the math right, 25 screens with 20 books each would be around 500 books, so all of them can’t be winners.
