I loved this three volume set that chronicles elite assassin Mitch Herron’s falling out with the secret and powerful organization of assassins he has worked for for many years.

Brutal, vicious and hard as nails, Herron is a character you might think would be better cast as a villain than a hero, and yet I couldn’t help cheering for him as he learns the awful truth about the organization he has faithfully served and turns the table on his former employers. There’s lots of gun and high tech toys, terrorist threats and wild shoot-em-ups and a man who, in spite of his occupation, is actually a highly moral and empathetic individual.

Mitch Herron is the kind of man you hope you’ll never have occasion to meet in real life, but I enjoyed spending a couple of days with him and the opportunity to find the whole collection in one convenient package so I didn’t have to break the Mitch magic by going to find and purchase the next story made it all the more enjoyable.

A great story, well presented by the narrator and in a package that’s easy to consume.
