I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So first, I don’t know that Historical Fiction is the right category for this. I mean you can call robots, with partial AI, in the Victorian age historical Fiction, but that’s not usually how I think of it.

However, you decide to categorize this book it’s great. I confused the main characters a bit at the beginning, but it wasn’t a major problem. There’s not much in the way of “fight” scenes, which was a nice change of pace from my normal Sci-Fi collection. The author manages to take how I felt about a circus when I was a kid and turn it into a circus I would want to see today. The descriptions of some of the acts and the visuals they evoke were scenes straight from a high-budget film.

The narrator does a great job, I was a particular fan of his android voice. It’s a hard voice to pull off given that it’s not supposed to be human sounding but still needs to convey emotion.

If you want something in the Sci-Fi genre, but isn’t about Space Battles, and Fight scenes, this is an ideal book to grab.
