If you’re already a fan, you’ll recognize the tone and themes, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Even though he’s written that span the galaxy — even the universe — the scope here feels more ambitious, more coherent, more alive than previous works. He borrows inspiration from quality source material, and manages to tell a very personal story that convincingly spans the globe. Apocalyptic, bordering on super natural, but still relevant and intriguing to current times.
