*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible purchase. 3 POV. Standalone. Age gap, MFM, light daddy kink with a HEA. Listed as 7 hours 56 minutes; I listened at speed 1.50 for 5 hours 17 minutes. All three narrators read well; Smutty McDiarmid (Michael’s POV) with a German accent (hard to understand his pronunciation of character names) and Joel Leslie (Jack’s POV) and Stacey Holmes (Carrie’s POV) both with a light British accent. Trigger warnings: foster children; punishment spanking; identity theft; @n@l; DP; MFM; and some MM touching.

Michael and Jack are single, straight, 40 year old, long time best friends. Michael is trying to save foster children and Jack owns his own successful insurance agency. Carrie is one of the foster cases under Michael’s responsiblity. Carrie is days away from her 18th birthday and at her last counseling appointment with Michael he pleads with her to make things right with her current foster parents so she had a safe place to stay. Carrie tries to tell Michael she only wants him but Michael knows that’s wrong and that he would never cross that line. Carrie leaves his office upset. Carrie decides to leave her foster home before her 18th birthday after she overhears her foster father talking about her to Michael. Michael has had strong feelings for Carrie since their first appointment but he can’t break his code of ethics. When he finds out she’s runaway Michael searches for and finally finds Carrie on the third day she’s been gone. He takes her to Jack’s place because Michael’s neighbor Pam is also a caseworker and he fears he would lose his job if she saw Carrie in their building. Jack is away at a conference and left Michael his key to watch his property. Jack returns home early when he can’t get a hold of Michael and finds Carrie and an injured crow destroying his home. As the story progresses Carrie grows up but her insecurity is sad and when her trusted friend’s betrayal is revealed it’s devastating. While their relationship isn’t for everyone the love story between Jack, Carrie, and Michael is definitely compelling. JP
