Doesn’t happen in book 1 or 2, but in the second set the main character’s reaction to finding out that a twelve year old (that he met when she was 5 years old) is in love with him is to kiss her then tell her to not date anyone else so they can get together when they’re both older because he’s not ready yet.
When she kissed him first, all of his internal conflict was just: “oh no a child kissed me and i liked it what do i doooo” and then deciding to just pause shit until she’s legal.
Nasty as hell, don’t start this book.
