Kevin Pierce’s stellar performance pleases as per usual in this storyline that includes things not thought of or encountered in most Apocalyptic books. Everything from attacks from the mentally ill to hungry wolves is utilized and analyzed. Jim’s friend Gary faces the facts of this “new/old” world because he must, not because he wants to. Many people turn to evil behaviour because they can no longer depend on government handouts, so rather than planting seeds or bartering work for food, turn to theft and murder. Others live like deer stunned in the headlights, refusing to see, wanting normalcy. Lots of those die too, or have to constantly be rescued. Lots of practical advice and encouragement to get training while it’s available to be had.
