I didn’t hate it, or love it – meh, is the best description.
The Good:
– Interesting premise and world
– The characters you’re supposed to dislike, you really dislike, though they seem like caricatures at times
– Most of the protagonist characters are likeable
– The narrator does a good job and adds life to the story
The Bad:
– Multiple changes in the point of view character within a page. This is incredibly painful and distracting. Needs an editor.
– One of the main characters isn’t that likeable
– Feels a bit like Harem LitRPG without actually being fully Harem LitRPG (yet)
– The book would have been better without the last chapter
I’m not sure if I’ll continue to listen to the series. It is highly rated so that might indicate the series gets better. A little editing would have led to a much better book.
