I made it two hours until the end and realized I totally didn’t care and turned it off.
The main characters Fire, Ice, and Rock should have tipped me off from the beginning. They should have been called paper rock scissors. Groan.
So many issues. The ones that bothered me the most:
-30 days in and people are eating each other because they couldn’t scrounge up a can of corn. Ridiculous.
-suddenly there’s thousands of armed drones in the US with no real explanation.
-two story lines that really don’t connect that just get smashed together at the end
-no one has ammo after a month and they just accept that as fact. No one makes targeted effort to get any or even talks about finding a reloader.
Overall it’s a lot of content for one credit. Honestly I wouldn’t have hated it so bad if I just didn’t listen to the last book. Unexplained and untidied endings would have been better than trying to milk more out of this series.
I hope the survivors die of dissentary.
