This second book in C.A. Rudolph’s What’s Left of my World series is even better than the first. I love seeing Lauren become the person she was meant to be, while learning more backstory, through flashbacks, of how she became prepared for an event such as this. The author does a masterful job weaving the story, with various subplots and a few flashbacks all coming together in an excellent book. While the main focus is on Lauren and her community, we are also introduced to other characters who impact the story. If you pay attention, you will notice some “hidden” connections, and gain even more of an appreciation of C.A. Rudolph’s creativity and planning. Full of action and drama, which Kevin Pierce does a great job narrating, I finished the Audible in a day because I couldn’t put it down. While action-packed, there are events and conversations that tugged at my heart strings, and realistic emotions and cadence are interjected through Kevin’s performance. I definitely recommend this series, book, author and narrator.
