I got about half way through but couldn’t finish. The story reads as a typical power fantasy where the MC is way smarter and more powerful than even the veterans around him. The good guys and allys have no noted flaws and the bad guys have no redeeming qualities and the author tries to make it ok that the character is murdering people in cold blood, sometimes cruelly.
Maybe it is commentary on a jaded general being perceived as a child and we’re not supposed to like him, but I just can’t get through this one.
