The first book is a decent parody of Mad Max/Fist of The North Star/post-apocalyptic westerns. The second book starts with the theming of small societies rising up from social groups.

The second book is “what if Renaissance Faire workers rebuilt society?” Decent, but doesn’t really stand out beyond the premise.

The third was the most obvious commentary and shows when this was written. I can tell the author had a strong online presence with the college town of “Tollerance” and the hypocritical attitudes of SJWs at the time. I swear the Carey/Kari character was based off of “Big Red” from the Men’s Rights protests going on in the mid-late 2010s. It was brilliant satire.

The second and third books each begin with a pre-apocalypse story that don’t feel like they relate to the rest of the book in any way beyond romantic feelings.
