This book was definitely not something I could freely listen to out loud without raising eyebrows, due to the grisly specific details regarding sexual assault and brutal violence. The story jumps between first person type commentary and third person narration, however I found it to be absolutely riveting! It even allowed me to draw specific parallels regarding aspects of the lingering effects of childhood abuse, etc.
