I loved the structure and introduction to imaginative prayer and meditation as it relates to Jesus’s agony in the garden. I had a very hard time listening to the seventeenth-century English anytime there was dialogue present, even when the narrator was speaking to Jesus in prayer. Thee and thou and thjne interspersed with the modern day English of the imagery was so jarring I had difficulty absorbing the text during those parts. This text was written in 1974 so perhaps a more modern translation would not have quite the jarring effect.
