The story is good, typical Jennifer Hartmann heartache roller coaster. But it’s so heartfelt and pretty taboo. Brant is a sweetie, which is fun because so many heroes are grouchy and angsty (which I like, too). It was just a little refreshing to have a sweetie to go

with the tragedy. It took a little while to set the stage with the kid stories. I usually get impatient with flashbacks, etc, but the children’s point of views were entertaining. I didn’t mind the long length of the book.

I’m glad I waited almost a year to listen to this book because the voice acting makes it an entertaining production. These narrators are a little intense at times, but I appreciate their talent.

I am not so patiently waiting for the Heartsong Duet on audible now. Please don’t make me wait a year for it. 😉
