Danny (the protagonist) starts off at an annoying whiner who isn’t good at anything and is constantly being reminded of it. It was almost enough to make me bail out; I’m very glad I didn’t, because he gets some significant character growth and the second half gets better and better. A bunch of twists, some of them good and some less so, but still clever and it leads into a future book nicely, leaving lots of room for further growth and some satisfying goals.

Definitely worth a credit.
