THE GODFATHER premiered when I was a senior in H.S. It became my favorite movie and fifty years later nothing has changed. I learned some new information during the course of listening to the audible version, and even if a story was something I’d heard before, I didn’t mind one bit being reminded. What I did mind was the narration of Phil Thron. His “voiceover” tone at times was often just too distracting; it’s a voice you’ve heard in the theater over a movie trailer, or on an early A&E Channel produced show, back in the 90’s when it was actually the Arts & Entertainment network. Too much emphasis and change of tone (like: hey, listen to my VOICE) and changing to a “female” voice was nauseating to me. Just my preference, and I only have to make certain to skip any more books narrated by him…
