There are a lot of things I love about this book. I really love that the characters are a mix of older adults and college age. I’m not young, but I was able to connect with both sets of characters. The students, and the adults at home, consist of both prepared and unprepared, and are great examples of different personalities and preparedness. I love post-apocalyptic fiction; I enjoyed that it centers around a Coronal Mass Ejection, which isn’t as saturated as other topics. Furthermore, the story is well written and well thought out. I am looking forward to seeing where the author goes from here.

I usually prefer having male narrators, but I really liked the dual narration of Kevin Pierce and Becket Royce. I was already familiar with Mr. Pierce, as he’s one of my favorite narrators. I love his voice and he easily draws me into the story. This is my first experience with Ms. Royce, and I really enjoyed her performance. I think she’s the perfect narrator for Ripley and her group. She did an excellent job.
