I listened to this book and I’m not always a fan of listening vs reading books but wow the audio for this one was spectacular. The voices for the many different characters was superb. So 5 stars for this audio.
5 Stars for the book itself as well. Is there angst – yes. Is it emotional and will it make you cry – yes. But it will also make you smile and if you’re anything like me once you start you can’t stop. I’m not sure if you could read this as a stand alone or not – I think you’d be a little bit confused and why would you anyway because books 1 & 2 are fantastic 5 star reads as well. I admit I wasn’t a huge Robbie fan before this book and while I do really adore Kelly he isn’t my favorite character. However, along the way I did fall in love with Robbie and discovered sides of Kelly I hadn’t seen. So do I love them – yes but they still aren’t my favorite characters and if I’m being honest Gordo stole the show a bit for me in this book. He also brought some much needed levity into this heartbreaking at times story.
The plot is a bit confusing the first few chapters but it’s intentionally written that way. Once you figure out what is going on you are hooked. This is a story of a lost wolf trying to find his way home and the journey isn’t easy. Finding your physical way home is just the beginning of the journey. Now I sit on pins and needles waiting for Brothersong – I need it now!
