S. E. Smith has a talent for writing a sexy story that is not all about sex!
This story builds the “world” easily and drops you straight into the action immediately. This is a very familiar trope, instant and eternal love with one’s true mate, when reading this genre of sci-fi, yet it doesn’t feel trite.
The “males” are protective of all “females” so when Hunter is rescued by a feisty Earth female, he is initially honor bound to find and protect her in repayment for his life. But it is not long before he realizes what she is to him. She takes a little convincing, but he is just so damn sexy. Once they do get together it is forever and super hot, so now we can move on to the REST of the story without dwelling on their sex lives as the main plot.
There is betrayal and justice to deal with as well as coping with a new world once they leave Earth.
Ok, don’t get all disappointed that there is not a sex scene in every chapter. These guys are pretty hot for each other so there will be more.
This is a great start to a series. I hope the others live up to this one.
One more thing, I hope they keep the narrator throughout. Never heard him before this but Mr. Brenin is great!
