Shemer Kuznits continues his ability to create another entertaining episode in this series. However, there was an inordinate amount of environment building, resource gathering and level-grinding before the final battle. Even so, it was mostly interesting understanding how the city/war camp was built and the stat dumps were kept to an acceptable level. The final battle was grueling, savage and close calls during the encounter.

This book included a significant amount of sound-effects over prior books, something I normally don’t prefer but I have to admit, I found this somewhat entertaining on a number of occasions. Kudos go out to Jeff Hays, Annie Ellicott and Laurie Catherine Winkel for making it so.
