Way too many characters dropping meta comments. You can have infinite layers to a world and story but constantly having them shoved down your throat is pretty exhausting. Side characters are just there to ruin the flow of the story while the MC gets moody, useless and doesn’t make any decisions. Couldn’t finish. I love the previous books and I’ll pick up the next one just in case Jade dies and Dave remembers how to speak in full sentences and not just one liners. Great performance by the master narrator as usual.
