The Empire by Ivan Kal was different than what I anticipated. But in a good way. The story explored the consequences of two different paths taken. The Empire and the Core. Both were right and oh so wrong. The depths of which our familiar protagonist suffered was unexpected. So was the growth. Overall another truly compelling story by Ivan Kal. DRmz 8-4-24
