This book follows right behind Soulsmith without any time lapse, and boy is Lindon hard-pressed to keep up. It’s no secret that I FREAKIN’ LOVE this series (you can go back and read my first 2 reviews if you want… I’ll wait), so there’s absolutely no bias here (yeah, right!). Lol ?
So, having recently purchased the entire series (to date, 7 bks), I’m seriously trying not to binge on them. That way, I’m able to gather my thoughts together, to think about how each book furthers the story ARC, the action, the world building, the magic system… how each book forces Lindon to stretch and expand himself beyond his own understanding of what he’s capable of with his unique twin souls!
With Wight’s superb story telling, and with one book following right after the other, makes not-binging one of the hardest things I’ve ever tried to do! Jeez, even Jim Butcher doesn’t force Dresden to fight everyday, as his storylines are spaced about a year apart (and, no, I’m not including the short stories, besides they’re just Side Jobs LOL)!
So yeah, grab this book, and “follow the way” as Lindon walks The Path of the Blackflame Warrior! Better yet, get the audio copy and let Travis Baldree take you on your next awesome adventure!
