This is a long and dusty slog through a apocalyptic event that is parts meteor strike, zombie and then alien invasion.

There are a variety of overlapping characters that have some kind of connection, but don’t interact (yet). There just seems to be too much going on with slow progress in the story. It seemed to take a long time to get to the point or a concrete plot, then leaves you hanging. It is part of a series, but I don’t know that I have the patience to try the next installment.

Generally the writing is good, but the story needs some paring.

Andrew B. Wehrlen narrates a variety of characters and scenes with great style.
