OK, so after having read or listend to around 50 LitRPG books, I came into this with the wrong mindset. I was thinking more “World of Warcraft” just like all the other books. That’s how it comes off in the beginning, but then the lightbulb hit me and smacked me in the face! I realized this is LitRTS!! The author went back to the original Warcraft, Starcraft and Comand and Conquer days. How refreshing!! Brings back memories. The story is solid, the game system was simplified so listening to all the menus and character sheets isn’t as tedious and annoying like it is in other books. The narration is great! Starting book 2 now and I’m excited for the multiple narrators. Props to everyone involved in the production of these audiobooks!
