Put together one of my personal favorite tropes–friends to lovers–with one of the more popular tropes around–step-siblings–with Lily Morton’s always fabulous romantic comedy with a dash of drama writing plus Joel Leslie’s and you’ve got yourself audiobook gold! Morton and Leslie pair up once again for the third audiobook in the Mixed Messages series, and experiencing this story I already fell in love with when I’d read it a couple of years ago feels like such a privilege. Leslie has taken the main characters, Henry Ashworth and Ivo Robinson, and made them his own, bringing to life two very different with complex personalities and endearing them even further. Risk Taker had that perfect balance of angst and wit that gave me all the feels in a way only Morton and Leslie can. Five-plus stars. ♥
