Another winner from Lily Morton.
With her book The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings, Lily broke away from her usual contemporary romcoms and dipped her feet into paranormal romance. In her follow-up novel, The Quiet House, she brings Blue, his boyfriend Levi, and a few other beloved characters from the first book, on another grand adventure into the paranormal. This time someone from Blue’s past makes an offer he can’t refuse. This book pushes the definition of romance since the main characters are already a couple, but it does explore their relationship and their uncertainties with each other and themselves. In usual Lily style, the steam is hot and sweet.
While this book has some nail biting moments, I will say that it was not nearly as frightening as the first book and I was able to listen to it after dark. For a bit. With the lights on.
Joel Leslie is no less than stellar, but then again, is he ever?
