Gia Riley has given this story a feeling of what it would be like if your world is turned upside down. Megan finds her daughter in the hospital due to her husband’s drunk driving accident, a woman in her house that her husband is sleeping with and now she has to deal with what to do next. In the hospital, she is lucky enough to have Garrett as the orthopedist on call and a childhood friend, to help her daughter. Garrett has always had feelings for Megan, but with all she is going through, will they see their way to a happily ever after? Will Megan be able to forgive her husband Connor? There are quite a few twists and turns in this story that will leave you feeling Megan’s indecision and pain as her life changes. And the final scene will leave you with feelings of remorse, love and surprise! I really enjoyed the journey that Riley took us on, so much can happen in an instant that is life changing, and I felt all the emotions that Megan was going through. And while not a cliffhanger, the ending did leave us open for more, which I do hope we get. There is a little more we could learn about this family!

Sarah Puckett provided an wonderful performance of this book. With so much going on, she let us feel the emotional turmoil of a mother and wife searching for her family, and the worry of what is to come. There are a lot of scenes that she brought the feelings of sadness, guilt and fear to light with just the tone of her voice. I thought the narration was excellent.
