This is a very short story about what happens after Leonard burns down a crack house in his neighborhood… again. The law takes a dim view of his arson and he is up for trial. Hap helps his friend by calling an old acquaintance…a lawyer named Veil. Veil has a very distinct definition of justice and the law. If justice means that the law gets a bit bent, that’s acceptable. Veils defense of Leonard is what most of us wish court was like.
Fair warning, there is a lot of profanity and implied violence here. But you are listening to a Hap and Leonard story, so that’s hardly unexpected. If you enjoyed any of their other adventures, then you will enjoy this.
