Ryan Westfield has created an exceptional story here. In book 3, Max and company are on their way toward Kentucky, and John and his traveling companions are also on their own trek. The farmhouse has become uninhabitable. Max and company have stumbled upon a community of sorts, with sinister intentions. John and Cynthia encounter a pair who seemingly have no care in the world here. And then they encounter the sinister Drew. And that’s just the start. This is a continual tale of twists and turns that the reader doesn’t see coming. It just keeps getting better, so on to book 4.

Kevin Pierce is in his element. This is his stock and trade. His brilliant every single time.
