So this is book 4 out of five I like the first three better but that’s just because there was more character development from the books before, Chris Pike is a young talented writer for this genre. It is post apocalyptic but all the books basically focus on a villain and a good guy, they have often love stories as well which he fits in very well. I have close to 70 post apocalyptic books as that is all I listen to. Kevin Pierce as a narrator is by far! The best narrator in this genre. He can make a decent book a very good book he keeps your attention throughout. We all know with an EMP cars don’t start playing for the sky and cell phones don’t work people seem to adapt too easily to the hardships of what life would be like without electricity. There’s a lot of adventure and traveling. I would like to see more focus on the prepping aspect and bring to life the hardships that come along with no modern technology. The importance of hospitals modern science medication the things we are all used to having at our fingertips and people who have truly prepared or know how to survive and acquire the resources they need to survive. Overall the book is fun mostly PG 13 post apocalyptic fiction. There are a lot more books out there that I feel have a more realistic view of what the world would be like but it did not stop me from enjoying all four books so far it would be nice if he incorporated the first two books as part one and then the second two as part two the credits aren’t cheap so it’s disappointing when you finish a book in one workday It’s a good change of pace in the genre and I found it keeping my attention Kevin Pierce is truly a master of bringing things to life.
