I cannot put into words my joy and excitement when I saw Book 5 pop up for pre-order. I had given up hope and wrote the dungeon lord series off as dead on a cliffhanger from book 4. All this said book 5 did NOT disappoint. Though not perfect it was another great addition to the series and took so many twists and turns. Highs and lows. My only very very minor complaints are. 1. Ed’s time on Earth seemed a bit skimmed over early on, but nothing unforgivable. Just felt it was lacking some part between breaking out in book 4 and where book 5 started. 2. Sooooooooooo dang much battle. I love good fight scenes. I love epic battles. But there was just so much in this book that it got a bit droney in parts. That all said, I never felt the book was a slog, and it was very hard to pause it and go to sleep instead of binging the whole thing in one go.
Love it! Welcome back, Hugo, I’m glad you are doing better! Glad you took the time to get this book right rather than just tossing it out there.
