This is not a bad book, just okay though, kind of boring. the interesting thing is that it’s boring because it hasn’t been earned. it seems like the author got bored and skipped like 2-3 years of the story so he could get to the war, either because he wasn’t interested in committing to the academy arc or because he was worried others wouldn’t like it. The events at the end of the 4th book seem like they should have happened a few years into school but I’m not sure the MC spent even a full week in the school. We never got to see him build his relationships with the other students, to grow and learn and become the most powerful monster in the school. Now I just feel like I’m missing a book or two and have no investment in anything that’s happening. Bummer, because it had a strong start and was looking like a good long series to enjoy. If this doesn’t bother you and you enjoy it, just ignore the rest of us.
