I listen to a lot of EMP and post apocalyptic books. This series is by far one of the most disappointing. The characters never develop. They don’t learn and grow as they go through the books. They continue to make the same mistakes over and over but every time luck saves them.
The conversations and even thoughts that people have feel forced. They do not come across as real. The main character was such a self centered jerk that I began to hope that he would get killed.
It just is not good.
